Pinsents passes 25% target for female partners with 11 women made up
UK firm's 16 partner promotions include first in Australia since 2015 launch

Pinsent Masons has become the first UK top 50 firm to announce its 2017-18 new partner round, with the promotion of 11 women taking the firm past its target of a 25% female partnership.
The 11 women made up represent two thirds of this year's total of 16 new partners, which is slightly down on last year's 18-strong round.
In 2014, the firm set itself a target to have 25% of its partnership made up of women by 2018. This year's promotions mean that as of 1 May this year the firm will have reached almost 26%, with 108 female partners out of a total of 421.
In a statement, Pinsents said it will now "progress towards its longer-term goal of 30% female representation".
This year's round includes the firm's first partner promotion in Sydney since its Australia launch in 2015, with infrastructure disputes senior associate Sadie Andrew making the grade.
Thirteen of the promotions are UK-based, including infrastructure senior associate Sonal Shah and TMT senior associate Alison Ross Eckford (pictured above, left to right), as well as two in Germany.
Pinsents senior partner Richard Foley commented: "We have worked hard to ensure a level playing field. All of those who have achieved this personal landmark have done so on merit."
The promotions will take effect on 1 May this year.
