Stephenson Harwood has reappointed Sharon White as chief executive for a further two years, with senior partner Roland Foord re-elected for a second term.

White's two-year extension will see her reach 10 years as CEO, having first taken on the top job in 2009. Her current three-year term had been due to end on 30 September this year.

She said: "I'm looking forward to continuing to build our already successful firm, making it stronger and better positioned to meet the challenges of an increasingly competitive market."

White joined the firm in 1988 and made partner in 1997. In 2009, she took over as CEO from commercial litigator Sunil Gadhia.

Gadhia spent six years managing the firm before stepping down to continue fee earning, subsequently leaving to join Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton's London office in 2012.

Meanwhile, the firm has also elected London litigation partner Foord for a second term. He will begin a new three-year term on 1 May after the completion of his first five-year term. He was elected after standing uncontested.

Earlier this year, White told Legal Week that the firm had set an ambitious target to grow its revenue by more than 40% in the next five years without the need for a merger. The target means the firm is aiming for revenues of £225m by 2021 – an increase of 42% on the 2015-16 figure of £157.6m.

The firm is also planning to boost its partner ranks by a third during the same time period, taking its partnership from 150 to 200.
