City of London Dechert has hired banking and finance partner Rob Bradshaw from Kirkland & Ellis in London.

Bradshaw departs after three years at Kirkland. He first joined the firm in 2014 from Allen & Overy, where he was a senior associate, and made partner in 2015.

Bradshaw has previously acted for Bain Capital on several matters, including on the financing of its acquisition of Autodistribution Group in 2015. Other clients include South African retail company Edcon Holdings, Boston private equity company Great Hill Partners, and Macquarie Infrastructure.

Dechert's head of corporate and securities Mark Thierfelder said:"Rob's arrival is the next big step in our strategic plan for growth in our London private equity practice. The team is doing very sophisticated work in the UK and across the continent. Rob will enhance our ability to serve our clients as we focus on their most complex matters."

The new recruit is the latest in a number of lateral hires for Dechert during the past year. In November 2016, Kirkland finance partner John Markland and White & Case private equity partner Ross Allardice came onboard. Allardice previously spent nine years at Kirkland, before joining White & Case in 2013.

Other hires for Dechert during the past 12 months in London include former Weil Paris partner Laurent Faugerolas, DLA bankruptcy partner Paul Fleming, Clifford Chance litigation partner Stephen Surgeoner and DLA Piper finance partners Philip Butler and David Miles.

Bradshaw's exit also marks the latest in a series of departures from Kirkland.

Last month, the office was hit by the walkout of a seven-partner team to US rival Sidley Austin. The team was led by private equity and M&A partner Volker Kullmann and included tax partner Roderic Pagel, corporate partners Björn Holland, Christian Zuleger, Marcus Klie and Nicole Schlatter, and finance partner Markus Feil.

However, the firm has taken steps to rebuild the office, hiring private equity partner Volkmar Bruckner from Weil Gotshal & Manges' Munich office earlier this month (16 March).
