Dechert is set to add Dentons disputes partner Michelle Bradfield to its London office, in what will be the US firm's second UK lateral hire this month.

The hire is subject to a partnership vote at Dechert, which is currently taking place.

Bradfield, whose practice has a particular focus on commercial and investment treaty arbitration, made partner at Dentons in 2013 after joining from Latham & Watkins, where she was a senior associate.

Last year, she was featured in a Legal Week round-up of rising stars in the litigation sector. Major roles she has taken in recent years include advising Sudanese oil company Sudapet in 2015 on its claim against the Republic of South Sudan – one of the largest pieces of arbitration in London that year.

Her hire, if confirmed, will be the second partner addition to Dechert's London office in recent weeks, after the US firm boosted its ranks with banking and finance partner Rob Bradshaw from Kirkland & Ellis.

The firm also made a number of City partner hires in 2016. Last November saw Kirkland finance partner John Markland and White & Case private equity partner Ross Allardice come on board, while other hires during the year included former Weil Gotshal & Manges Paris partner Laurent Faugerolas, DLA Piper bankruptcy partner Paul Fleming, Clifford Chance litigation partner Stephen Surgeoner and DLA finance partners Philip Butler and David Miles.

CEO Henry Nassau recently cited the London office as a key contributor to Dechert's global growth during 2016, after the firm posted a 2.4% increase in revenue and a 1.6% increase in profit per equity partner for the calendar year.

Dechert and Dentons declined to comment.
