Clifford Chance (CC) has made up 24 lawyers to its partnership around the world, including six in the magic circle firm's City headquarters.
The six London lawyers making the grade are corporate duo James Bole and Jonathan Kewley; real estate lawyer Matt Taylor; and Timothy Cleary, David Robson and Owen Lysak in finance.
Eleven of the other promotions – which take effect on 1 May – are spread across the firm's offices in continental Europe, including three in Frankfurt and two in Warsaw.
By practice, corporate and finance are the principal beneficiaries, both receiving nine of the new partners.
Four of the new partners are female – Kristine Manoukian in New York, Lena Ng in Singapore, Katrin Schallenberg in Paris and Natsuko Sugihara in Tokyo. The firm now has a 19% female partnership around the world, up from 15% five years ago.
The firm is the last of the magic circle to announce its 2017 promotions. Allen & Overy last week made up 10 London lawyers in a 24-strong round, while Freshfields is making up 18 this year and Linklaters 26. Slaughter and May, meanwhile, has promoted seven lawyers to partner this year, including two outside of London.
Last year, CC also made up 24 lawyers around the world, including nine in London.
Managing partner Matthew Layton commented: "These partners are already widely recognised by clients and the market for the quality of their insight and judgement, and respected by colleagues for their substantial contributions to the life of the firm. I am delighted to welcome them to the partnership and look forward to working alongside them as their careers go from strength to strength."
