Ashurst has made up four women in a 19-strong global partner promotions round.
The new partners are spread across nine of the firm's offices. Australia and London have seen an even share of the promotions, with seven each, while the firm's France, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore and Spain offices have all seen one promotion each.
The new London partners are corporate senior associates James Fletcher and Simon Bullock, securities and derivatives lawyers Malcolm Charles and Alex Biles, resources and utilities counsel Anthony Johnson, banking senior associate Callum McPherson, and employment senior associate Ruth Buchanan.
The most prominent practices in this year's round are banking and corporate, both of which have received four new partners.
The total number of new partners is an increase on last year, when the firm made up 12 lawyers, a third of who were women.
Managing partner Paul Jenkins said: "We continue to invest across our global network, and promoting 19 partners across a wide variety of practices and offices reflects the strength of our business and client demand. I have every confidence that our new partners will play a critical role in capitalising on all future opportunities to develop and grow the business."
Ashurst recently moved four of its best-performing partners to the top of its newly extended equity ladder, after an overhaul of the firm's lockstep last year saw it extend the top of the equity ladder from 65 to 75 points. The firm also introduced a bonus pool, which can be used to reward full equity and fixed-share partners for strong performances in a particular year.
