Watson Farley & Williams has added six lawyers to its partnership, with four in London and two in Hamburg.

This year's total of six is slightly down on last year, when eight were made up. Of this year's promotions, one is female; last year, two of the eight new partners were women.

All the new London partners have experience in the oil and gas sectors within their various different practice groups.

Two London energy and infrastructure lawyers have joined the firm's partnership, including Rod Chooramun, who previously worked in-house at BG Group, and before becoming a lawyer was an exploration geologist. He is promoted alongside Nick Walker, who specialises in planning, environmental and health and safety law.

The other two London promotions are Daniel Saunders in corporate and Rebecca Williams in disputes, while the new Hamburg partners are real estate lawyer Eckrolf Berg and corporate energy and infrastructure lawyer Wolfram Boge.

The promotions bring Watson Farley's total partnership to 150.

In February this year, the firm appointed London shipping partner Nigel Thomas as its new chairman, replacing Frank Dunne who held the role since 2004.
