Firm takes lead role for Atlantia on takeover offer for Spanish rival Abertis

DLA Piper and Italian law firm Gianni Origoni Grippo Cappelli & Partners are advising on infrastructure company Atlantia's €16.3bn (£13.8bn) bid for Spanish rival Abertis.
Both Atlantia and Abertis specialise in operating toll roads, and the combination would create the world's biggest operator of toll roads. Atlantia is a holding company that owns Autostrade per l'Italia, which operates more than 5,000km of toll roads around the world.
