Six White & Case private equity lawyers are leaving the firm's London office after a restructuring of the practice following the departure of global private equity co-head Richard Youle to Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom.
Legal Week previously reported that the firm was in discussions with several associates who worked closely with Youle about their career options at the firm, in light of the partner's move to Skadden. No formal redundancy consultation was necessary.
Youle started work at Skadden earlier this month (13 June), along with fellow private equity partner Katja Butler.
In total, Youle previously worked with about 15 associates at White & Case, including the six that are leaving the firm. He has taken a team of five associates with him. The remaining lawyers will keep their roles in the US firm's City private equity team.
