Baker McKenzie has promoted five London lawyers to its partnership, in an 80-strong intake of new partners around the world.

The new partners include 31 women, representing almost 40% of the group.

The new City partners are corporate lawyer Susie Davies, employment lawyer Kim Sartin, international trade and commerce lawyer Jennifer Revis, financial services lawyer Mark Simpson and real estate lawyer Ben Farnell.

Global chair Paul Rawlinson said: "As always, I am pleased that we have a good proportion of women joining the partnership, which is reflective of our focus on diversity and inclusion activities across the firm. We have also had a very successful year in attracting new lateral partners to the firm."

Last year, the firm made up six partners in London in an 85-strong global promotions round, of which 40% were female.

By jurisdiction, Europe has received the largest share of the new promotions, with 22, including the new UK partners. Seventeen new partners have been made up across the Asia-Pacific region, with 16 in the US.

By practice, dispute resolution has received the largest share of this year's promotions, with 16 (20%).

Bakers has added a number of lateral partners to its London office during the past 12 months, including a team from King & Wood Mallesons.
