The London Borough of Lambeth has invited law firms to pitch for its £25m legal services framework.

The current framework is due to expire at the end of September. Once in place, the new panel, which will run for four years, will be available for use by all authorities and public bodies in the Lambeth borough.

The contract is divided into two lots. The first lot relates to property, planning and commercial legal advice, with the second relating to debt collection.

The deadline for applications is 14 September.

Seventeen law firms were on the previous line-up, including TLT, Pinsent Masons, Sharpe Pritchard, BLM, Weightmans, Ashfords and Browne Jacobson.

Tender documents published on 22 August state that the new framework will feature between 10 and 24 firms.

The news comes after the UK government recently completed an overhaul of its centralised legal services panel, with 18 firms handed two-year terms on the panel, which has an estimated value of £400m.

In total, 18 firms including Linklaters, Simmons & Simmons, and Slaughter and May were appointed for two-year terms on the new panel.
