(L-R) Awards host Peter Ndoro; Tammi McMahon-Panther, Procter & Gamble; awards judge Kavisha Baboolal, Leonie Ellis Placements

Finalists: Monique Lebona, Absa Bank (Highly Commended); Suvern Singh, Barclays Africa

Procter & Gamble's Tammi McMahon-Panther secured the Senior Corporate Counsel award just a year after winning the junior title. As legal counsel for the company's Southeast Africa (SEA) region (and from July this year, responsible for Procter & Gamble's global privacy, cybersecurity and IT law for the whole of Europe, India, Middle East and Africa), McMahon-Panther provides general and commercial legal support across all its business units in the SEA region, including sales, product supply, human resources and quality assurance.

That cross-disciplinary approach is reflected in an array of major achievements for the business, such as her award-winning work on the restructuring of its South African respiratory care business, and the successful closing of the sale of P&G's beauty business (which involved the transfer of 74 legal entities). McMahon-Panther has also been instrumental in training and upskilling business partners, and she continues to protect the company's brands from complaints, with no products being pulled from shelves and a more than 80% legal win ratio.

"Tammi is an indispensable partner to the business and provides meaningful contributions and proactive, practical business-focused advice that is an asset to the organisation across a variety of areas," said Faisal Sabzwari, vice-president at Procter & Gamble.
