Gibson Dunn & Crutcher has hired two London partners from Mayer Brown, including the US firm's global co-head of corporate and securities Jeremy Kenley.
Kenley, who is also head of private equity real estate at the firm, is moving to Gibson Dunn with London tax head Sandy Bhogal.
The departures come just two weeks after Legal Week revealed that two Mayer Brown insurance partners – including London insurance and reinsurance head David Chadwick – were leaving to join Kennedys.
Kenley joined Mayer Brown in 2012 after six years in in-house roles, including 18 months as general counsel at Apollo Global Real Estate, before which he spent four years as European general counsel at Citibank Property Investors.
Bhogal, meanwhile, joined Mayer Brown in 2005 from EY, and has led the London tax practice since 2013. He will be replaced as London tax head by James Hill. Kenley will not immediately be replaced.
In 2015, the duo worked together to advise Canadian investment group Brookfield on its acquisition of holiday resort operator Center Parcs in a deal worth an estimated £2.5bn.
London co-head Jeffrey Trinklein said: "Jeremy is recognised as a leading player among the handful of top-notch real estate private equity lawyers in London, and we expect he will contribute significantly to our well-established team, who already represent many of the world's leading real estate private equity firms.
"Similarly, Sandy is recognised as a leader in the London tax community, particularly in terms of his transactional and advisory experience. They both have the right combination of technical skill, experience and fit that will make them assets to our team in London, Europe and globally."
Mayer Brown London senior partner Sally Davies said: "Our private equity team led by Perry Yam, together with the rest of the London office, is having a very strong year. In line with our strategic plan, the firm will continue to invest in London and build on that success. We wish Jeremy and Sandy both the best in their new positions."
The departures follow those of City insurance head Chadwick, who is joining Kennedys in London, and insurance and reinsurance partner Andrew McGahey, who is moving to Kennedys' Dublin base.
Other recent London hires for Gibson Dunn include Allen & Overy City arbitration partner Jeffrey Sullivan and Herbert Smith Freehills energy co-head Anna Howell.
