Holman Fenwick Willan expands Asia Pacific presence with Indonesia association
HFW ties up with Jakarta's Rahayu & Partners as Indonesian firm's founder joins as partner

Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) has agreed an association with Indonesian firm Rahayu & Partners, a deal which has gone live today (3 November).
Rahayu, which was founded in 2005, is based in Jakarta and focuses on banking and finance work. It is led by founding partner Sri Rahayu, who will join HFW as a partner.
In addition to Rahayu, the firm has one other partner and seven associates.
Rahayu will work alongside HFW corporate partner Haydn Dare – who joined from Herbert Smith Freehills in 2015 and is based in Jakarta – and international corporate head Brian Gordon, who is based in Singapore.
HFW global senior partner Richard Crump said: "This cements our existing client relationships in Indonesia, which we have in all our sectors, and enables us to better serve our clients in offering local expertise; whether in the context of Indonesian legal advice or in understanding the business environment and culture. This adds to our existing strong offering in Southeast Asia, where we have been operating for more than 25 years."
Rahayu added: "With business opportunities increasing in Indonesia across a range of industries, the association with HFW offers our clients strength and depth across a number of core sectors vital to grow our business in this vibrant economy."
The move follows three associations agreed by HWF in the Middle East during 2016, as well as a its merger with US energy and marine firm Legge Farrow Kimmitt McGrath & Brown, which went live in January this year.
The merger took total headcount at HFW to 170 partners and 450 lawyers.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
