Mayer Brown's City insurance practice has seen another two departures, with the exit of partner duo Mandip Sagoo and Angus Duncan to Clyde & Co.

Sagoo, who joined the US firm's London office 12 years ago, specialises in advising insurers in connection with financial institutions, professional indemnity and warranty and indemnity claims.

Duncan, meanwhile, joined Mayer Brown from US rival Morgan Lewis & Bockius as a senior associate in 2007 and was made up to partner in 2011. His practice includes professional indemnity issues, with a focus on the tax scheme exposures faced by accountants and independent financial advisers.

Clydes claims partner Sarah Clover said: "Mandip and Angus both bring with them skills, experience and client bases which complement our existing professional and financial disputes practice very well. We look forward to them joining and further bolstering our practice in the UK and internationally."

Clydes has made a series of recent hires for its global insurance practice, including a 10-strong Miami team from US firm Hinshaw & Culbertson earlier this month, as well as 15 insurance and litigation partners from now defunct US firm Sedgwick in December.

Sagoo and Duncan's exits, meanwhile, are the latest in a slew of departures from Mayer Brown's City practice, after six partners left the firm's London office in two months last year.

City insurance rival Kennedys made the bulk of the hires, with insurance partners Ingrid Hobbs, Andrew Westlake and Andrew McGahey and former London insurance head David Chadwick joining the UK firm. Senior associate associate Tim McCaw has  also joined Kennedys as a partner.

Additionally, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher hired two partners from Mayer Brown in November. Global co-head of corporate and securities Jeremy Kenley, who was also head of private equity real estate, left for Gibson Dunn with Mayer Brown London tax head Sandy Bhogal.

Mayer Brown senior London partner Sally Davies said: "We thank Mandip and Angus for their contribution and confirm that by mutual agreement they will both be joining Clyde & Co.

"Under the leadership of Will Glassey, our London insurance practice continues to be focused on complex and international insurance disputes in London and globally. Given that insurance is a core industry focus for Mayer Brown globally, we are also adding local depth to the practice in London and other markets such as the US, where we recently recruited insurance litigation partner Bob Harrell from Norton Rose Fulbright."
