Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) has made up eight lawyers to partner in its latest promotions round, with all but one based outside the UK.

The promotions, up from three last year, two of which were in London, sees the firm focus on its international network.

Three of the new partners are in Australia, two are in Dubai, with Houston and Singapore gaining one apiece. The partners are spread across the firm's aerospace, commodities, construction, insurance and reinsurance and shipping practice areas. Three of the eight new partners are female.

HFW has carried out six international mergers and alliances since January 2016 – including a fully-integrated transatlantic merger with Legge Farrow in January 2017 – and  56% of the firm's revenue was generated outside the UK in 2016-17, up from 35% in the 2010-11 fiscal year.

HFW senior partner Richard Crump said: "These promotions reflect our continued growth internationally and in each of our sectors. It is also great to see the promotion of our internal talent."

Managing partner Marcus Bowman added: "Each have already made significant contributions to the firm's continued growth and development, and are highly respected by clients, the market and their colleagues for their deep industry expertise and outstanding levels of service. I look forward to working with them in the next stage of their career."
