Taylor Wessing has made up three London lawyers in the firm's latest round of partner promotions.

Two of the new City partners are women – disputes and investigations lawyer Katie Chandler and banking and finance lawyer Lerika Joubert – who have been made up alongside corporate lawyer Edward Story.

Chandler and Story joined the firm as trainees in 2005 and 2006 respectively, while Joubert joined in 2013 from Slaughter and May.

Taylor Wessing managing partner Tim Eyles (pictured) said: "As we have been through our promotions process this year, it's been inspiring to hear the creative ideas each of these individuals has for the future of our business. Their original thinking and willingness always to challenge and be challenged are qualities we value just as highly as their technical skill and client relationships – and indeed which we think add to the latter."

The firm is yet to announce its partner promotions for its other offices. Last year, just one London lawyer was made up among 10 promoted around the world, with the bulk of those appointments made in Germany.

The firm has also made up five lawyers to senior counsel in London. All promotions take effect on 1 May.

Other firms to have recently announced their 2018 partner promotions include Dentons, DLA Piper and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, which yesterday (4 April) announced its smallest promotions round since 2006, with 12 lawyers made up.
