RPC, Charles Russell Speechlys (CRS), TLT and Stewarts have all announced their partner promotions, with a strong showing of female lawyers across the group.
RPC has made up two female lawyers – London legal director Nicola Cain (pictured right), who focuses on data privacy issues in the media and technology sectors, and Carmel Green, who advises on high-value insurance claims.
In addition, the firm has made up John Rowland to partner in the firm's insurance consulting arm, RPC Consulting. Rowland, who heads up RPC Consulting's life insurance capability joined the firm in late 2016 from Willis Towers Watson, where he was global leader of life capital modelling.
At CRS, four women and four men have made the grade this year, all of who are based in the firm's London office.
Two of the new partners are from the firm's tax, trusts and succession practice with another two in family, while the other promotions are spread across corporate, corporate tax, commercial and dispute resolution practices, including Charlotte Pender (pictured top).
Separately, the firm has promoted a further four lawyers to legal director and 22 to senior associate.
CRS managing partner James Carter said: "We are seeing real momentum with these promotions, reflecting the strength and diversity of our practice. Half our new partners are women, and over 70% of those being promoted overall, including our new senior associates and legal directors, are female."
The firm has made 15 lateral partner hires in the last financial year, spread across Hong Kong, Dubai, Luxembourg, Paris and the UK. It also merged with sports boutique Couchmans at the start of this year, which brought in four partners to its City base.
Meanwhile, Stewarts has promoted five lawyers to partner, including three women.
Banking litigation-focused Laura Jenkins and Lucy Ward are joining the partnership alongside family lawyer Carly Kinch, commercial disputes specialist Martin Walsh and competition litigation lawyer Stuart Carson.
Fellow UK top 50 firm TLT is promoting four associates and two legal directors to partner this year, with an even balance of male and female lawyers.
The six making the grade are financial services disputes and investigations lawyers Warren Clark and Rachel Storey, pensions lawyer Chris Crighton, corporate lawyer Liz Delaney, real estate lawyer Phil Moran and banking and restructuring lawyer Anna Vangrove.
Legal Week analysis of this year's partner promotions at the magic circle recently found indications of progress on gender diversity, with 31% women among this year's new partners across the five firms, up from 19% last year and 24% in 2016.
