White & Case has brought another litigation partner into its fold in the latest of a string of lateral hires for the US giant, this time in the form of Addleshaw Goddard's Chris Brennan.
London-based Brennan, who has been a partner at Addleshaws since 2012 and was the head of the firm's Financial Conduct Authority investigations and enforcement practice, will start at White & Case on Monday (4 June).
He will be the second litigation lateral hire and the fifth London lateral for White & Case this year, including the February addition of Weil Gotshal & Manges litigation partner and disputes co-head Hannah Field-Lowes.
White & Case partner and EMEA disputes head Charles Balmain said: "Chris is an experienced and commercially-minded lawyer with a thorough understanding of the regulatory system and strong relationships with financial institutions and hedge funds."
White & Case made a series of high-profile hires last year, including Clifford Chance M&A partner Patrick Sarch and Macfarlanes competition partner Marc Israel.
Brennan was a partner at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert from 2007 until 2011, when he left to become head of regulatory for Lloyds Banking Group ahead of Barlows' takeover by Clyde & Co. He also previously worked as a senior lawyer in the Financial Services Authority's enforcement division.
Addleshaws dispute resolution head Michael Barnett said: "Chris leaves with our best wishes. Contentious regulatory work continues to be a key area for investment and our market-leading global investigations team led by Nichola Peters goes from strength to strength, servicing our deep client base."
Barnett cited the firm's recent hire of former Allen & Overy corporate crime and investigations counsel Michelle de Kluyver, who joined the firm as a partner in London last December, as well as the promotion of Manchester lawyer Erin Shoesmith to partner in the firm's health and safety investigations team.
