Seddiqi Holding's Amira Fayad netted the Junior Corporate Counsel of the Year award for earning a reputation as the company's go-to expert for IP issues (and a genuine all-rounder). Fayad actively enforces the organisation's IP and regularly represents Seddiqi in hearings with enforcement agencies such as the Dubai Department for Economic Development.

In addition, she has worked closely with her GC on the company's recent restructuring; reviewing and finalising corporate documents, and preparing legal docs.

She also helped the company expand into new markets, working on the creation of a retail subsidiary that focuses on fashion and lifestyle, as well as the company's first foray into Saudi Arabia and a push into Abu Dhabi. And her careful management of a complex dispute between Siddiqi and a UAE-based entity, which had a number of disputes running simultaneously that needed to be aligned, successfully supported the company's litigation strategy.

"Amira is the kind of lawyer that you want on your team not shying away from any challenge, adds her input, and gets the work done, all in a quiet unassuming way. I have seen her take more and more responsibility and gain the trust and confidence of the business," said Seddiqi GC Ghada Qaisi Audi.
