Six lawyers have left Shearman & Sterling in Asia this year, and five of them have become partners at other firms.

The most recent departure is former capital markets associate Stella Yeung, who joined Hong Kong-based L&C Legal as a partner earlier this month. L&C Legal was launched last month as an associate firm of China’s Jingtian & Gongcheng by a pair of former Mayer Brown partners—Elaine Lo and Nicholas Chan. The association came following a three-year Hong Kong alliance between Mayer Brown and Jingtian; L&C Legal is expected to fully merge with Jingtian’s Hong Kong office in early 2019.
