Shearman & Sterling and McDermott Will & Emery have made up two partners apiece in the US pair's latest partner promotion rounds.
Shearman has promoted London-based arbitration counsel Ximena Herrera-Bernal and project development and finance counsel Anthony Lepereto to partner, as part of its eight-strong global round.
All of the Shearman promotions are concentrated across the firm's London, New York and Washington DC offices.
Last year, the US firm promoted three partners in London out of a global round of 16.
Senior partner David Beveridge said: "Congratulations to this outstanding and diverse group on achieving such a significant career milestone. These lawyers from across our global network are committed to delivering excellent client service."
Meanwhile, McDermott has made up corporate associate Linda Zeman and private client counsel Lynsey McIntyre in its London office.
In total, McDermott has promoted 28 lawyers in its global offices, including five in Shanghai and seven in continental Europe.
McDermott only made up one lawyer in London last year within a 19-strong round.
McDermott chairman Ira Coleman said: "We are tremendously proud of our new partners. They are a talented, passionate and diverse group – representing both the firm's deep experience and path forward."
All of the appointments across both firms will take effect from 1 January 2019.
