Eversheds Sutherlands is set to merge with Czech and Slovak Republic firm Dvorak Hager & Partners (DHP Legal), in its latest move to expand internationally.

DHP Legal has 49 lawyers including eight partners, across two offices in Prague and Bratislava.

The legacy DHP offices will be named Eversheds Sutherland Czech Republic and Eversheds Sutherland Slovak Republic. With the new additions, the firm now has 68 offices in 34 countries.

DHP is a longstanding relationship firm of Eversheds, and acts for a wide range of international clients based primarily in the UK, US, Germany, Austria and the Nordics, as well as for major Czech and Slovak companies.

Eversheds Sutherland CEO Lee Ranson said: "The continued expansion of our global platform is a key part of our strategy, and one which has gathered real momentum in Europe in the past year. The Czech and Slovak Republics are a natural fit for us as is DHP Legal, one of the region's most highly regarded law firms. I am delighted to welcome our new colleagues to Eversheds Sutherland."

The merger builds on Eversheds' strategy for growth in continental Europe. Earlier this year, the international firm merged with Dutch firm Faasen & Partners, while it launched new offices in Luxembourg, Russia and Germany during 2017.
