US firms Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft and Sidley Austin have both boosted their City partnerships in their annual global promotion rounds.
This year, Cadwalader's London office has seen the bulk of the appointments, with three City lawyers made up out of a five-strong global promotions round.
Disputes lawyer Melis Acuner and capital markets lawyers Suzanne Bell and Robert Cannon have all been promoted in the City – a slight increase on last year's promotion round, which saw two London lawyers made up.
Elsewhere, litigator Gregory Langsdale and capital markets lawyer Jed Miller were also promoted in the firm's Washington DC and New York bases respectively. The firm also promoted seven to special counsel – including Sabah Nawaz in London – and two to counsel.
Meanwhile, Sidley has made a sole promotion in its City office, with private equity lawyer Lyndsey Laverack made up. Last year, the firm also promoted one London lawyer.
The firm has increased its global promotions round this year, making up 30 lawyers across its global offices. Last year, the firm promoted 19 lawyers.
The bulk of the firm's appointments have been made across its US bases, including Century City, Chicago, Dallas and Houston, as well as New York and Washington DC.
The firm's Singapore office also saw a single lawyer made up.
