Clifford Chance (CC) has said that it will work with other large UK law firms to counter corruption, amid scrutiny over the firm's involvement in the sale of a private jet to the son of an African dictator.
In a statement delivered at the recent Transparency International UK Annual Lecture, CC general counsel Chris Perrin responded to allegations recently published by Private Eye that the firm had acted for the son of Equatorial Guinea President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo (pictured) on the purchase of a $38m private jet in 2006.
