Nominations for this year's Legal Week Innovation Awards have opened, with forward-thinking legal services professionals set to be recognised for driving change in the market.
The awards, which are now in their fifth year, recognise new thinking by law firms, chambers, in-house legal teams, suppliers and alternative business structures – if you know of a deserving candidate, then please tell us about it.
This year's event will take place on the afternoon of Friday 24 May at The Landmark London hotel, with the 20 awards categories including Outstanding Innovator, AI Innovation, International Law Firm Innovation and Diversity Innovation.
Last year Addleshaw Goddard, Bird & Bird and Macfarlanes were among the winners, with Addleshaws taking home the award for Future of Legal Services Innovation (Large Private Practice) for its comprehensive efficiency programme to transform the way it does business.
The award was collected by head of innovation and legal technology Kerry Westland, who also took home the award for Innovation Rising Star.
The awards aim to underline the collaboration between lawyers and their colleagues in other disciplines such as marketing, business development, finance, IT, project management, operations, PR and recruitment.
An award is also presented to the year's Outstanding Innovator, who last year was former Linklaters lawyer Julia Salasky, the founder of CrowdJustice, a crowdfunding platform that has helped raise millions of of pounds to fund legal cases in the UK and US.
