CMS, Norton Rose Fulbright and Simmons & Simmons have all won places on insurance giant MS Amlin's 13-strong legal panel.

It is the company's first legal panel following UK-based Amlin's acquisition by Japan's Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group in 2016.

Other firms to have been appointed to the line-up include HFW, DWF, DAC Beachcroft, RPC, Kennedys and Keoghs.

MS Amlin provides insurance cover to a range of companies, operating in the UK, continental European and Bermudian markets.

Longtime adviser Linklaters was, in 2004, appointed to legacy Amlin's seven-strong panel. The magic circle firm now sits outside the panel as a key strategic adviser to the company's board.

The UK and Japan company has about 2,000 employees and annual revenues of £2.5bn.

Back in 2004, advisers included the likes of Ince & Co, Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (now Clyde & Co), and Dechert, but none of those are on the current panel.

In 2015, Linklaters corporate head Aedamar Comiskey advised Amlin on its £3.5bn sale to Japanese company Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance that created MS Amlin. CMS and Norton Rose were among the firms on Amlin's panel before the combination.

Fox Williams, Campbell Johnston Clark and McKinty & Wright have also been appointed to the panel to handle day-to-day employment and property matters for the City-headquartered company. Fox Williams also won a place on legacy Amlin's inaugural panel

Current line-up member Norton Rose collaborated with the insurance firm last September to launch an initiative in which a startup businesses pitched ideas to a panel, with the hope of winning £25,000 of legal advice.
