Fieldfisher has elected corporate partner David Wilkinson as its new senior partner to replace current post-holder Michael Lohn.

Wilkinson went head to head with real estate head Anthony Phillips to succeed Lohn, with his three-year term to take effect from 1 May.

Wilkinson became a partner in 1999, having joined the firm nine years earlier as a trainee. His key deals include advising Rangers FC on its flotation and acting on Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov's purchase of a stake in Arsenal FC.

Recently re-elected Fieldfisher managing partner Michael Chissick said: "Congratulations to David. He is a well-respected partner in the firm and has served as a member of the supervisory board for six years. I look forward to working with him over the next few years. I am also pleased that he will continue in a dual role as a fee-earner and senior partner."

Wilkinson added: "I am very much looking forward to working closely with Michael and the firm's executive committee and supervisory board, as we continue to grow and integrate our offices across Europe."

Elsewhere, Browne Jacobson has elected retail co-head Caroline Green (pictured) to be the firm's first female senior partner, succeeding professional risk partner Derek Bambury.

In 1989, Green became the first woman to become partner at Browne Jacobson and last year she was elected joint head of the firm's flagship London office.

Green will also take up her new role from the beginning of May for a three-year term.

Green, said: "It is an honour to be elected senior partner. It is hugely exciting time to be taking over the baton from Derek, who has done an outstanding job."

Bambury, who became senior partner in 2013, will continue in his role as head of business and professional risk.
