China Law & Practice is now inviting nominations for the 2019 China Law & Practice Awards, where lawyers, law firms and in-house teams in China will gather to celebrate the best legal work of the year.

The deadline for submission is June 13, 2019. Please visit the awards' online portal to enter.

The contest will be open to all firms with offices in mainland China. The China Law & Practice Awards carry a comprehensive set of Firm of the Year and Lawyer of the Year categories, which span the most sought-after areas of expertise. We will also focus on specific transactions and credit all of those involved. Seven deals are up for grabs, including debt and equity capital markets, finance, M&A, outbound and technology, media and telecommunications.

Grand prizes include Most Innovative Firm of the Year, International Firm of the Year and China Firm of the Year.

This year, we extended our popular Rising Star category to the in-house counsel community. Our inaugural Rising Star In-House Counsel of the Year category is open to China-based young in-house lawyers with four to 10 years of experience.

We will also honour two In-house Teams of the Year and two General Counsel of the Year, and we invite law firms to make submissions based on exceptional work undertaken by general counsel and their teams in China.

Among the big winners in 2018 were Fangda Partners, which took home the ultimate China Law Firm of the Year award, and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, feted as International Law Firm of the Year. Shanghai-based China Baowu Steel Group Corp. Ltd. received the In-House Legal Team of the Year award.

Winners of the China Law & Practice Awards will be announced on September 19, 2019 in Beijing.
