Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati has hired capital markets partner Wanda Woo from Kirkland & Ellis in Hong Kong.

Woo focuses on equity and debt capital markets transactions, including initial public offerings, share placings, rights offerings, bond offerings, and corporate compliance work associated with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and securities regulator Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong.

In December, Woo advised JPMorgan, CLSA and Citigroup as joint sponsors on a $428 million Hong Kong listing by Fosun Tourism Group, the tourism and hotels unit of Chinese conglomerate Fosun International Ltd.

Before joining Kirkland as a partner in April of last year, Woo was an associate at Shearman & Sterling for eight years. Earlier in her career, she practised and trained with Linklaters.

Woo comes in one month after capital markets partner Khoon Jin Tan left Wilson Sonsini to join Winston & Strawn. The Palo Alto, California-based firm now has five corporate partners that spend time in Hong Kong as well as Beijing and Shanghai: the head of the Greater China practice, Weiheng Chen; and partners Zhan Chen, Dan Ouyang and Ethan Jin.
