MinterEllison has hired Tim Hanmore as an environmental and resources law partner in Brisbane, from local firm McCullough Robertson.

Hanmore focuses on environmental management, conditioned approvals for major projects, government liaison, compliance and incident response, project acquisition and divestment for resources and energy companies.

He was part of the team that advised Sydney-based Whitehaven Coal Ltd. on a $3 billion acquisition of a fellow mid-tier coalminer, Brisbane-based Aston Resources Ltd., in 2011, which created the largest independent coalmining company in Australia at the time.

Hanmore joins MinterEllison after about eight years as a partner at McCullough Robertson. He joined the firm in 2011 after eight years at legacy Blake Dawson.

In February, MinterEllison hired another environment and planning partner, Joshua Dellios, in Melbourne from White & Case.
