The labour and employment firm Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart has bolstered its European capabilities with the hire of François Millet as a partner in its Paris office. Millet was previously at Neo Avocats, where he was a founding partner.

Millet has practised employment law in Paris for nearly 20 years and has represented employers in restructuring matters – often involving mass layoffs – as well as mergers and acquisitions for international companies. He has also handled collective litigation matters, such as collective layoffs, and the calculation method of the legal minimum wage.

"The arrival of François and his team is an excellent fit with the ongoing development of Ogletree Deakins' Paris office," Cécile Martin, managing partner of the firm's Paris office, said in a statement. "This new team's expertise in branch negotiations and professional training enhances the unique nature of the comprehensive service we are able to provide to our employment law clients."

Jean-Marc Albiol, founding partner of the firm's Paris office, said the firm is looking to sustained growth in Paris in the coming years as it aims to become a key player in French employment law.

Ogletree Deakins, which is headquartered in Atlanta, represents management in all types of employment-related legal matters and has steadily been building out an international presence. It has more than 850 attorneys located in 53 offices across the United States and in Europe, Canada and Mexico.
