Paul Hastings has recruited a Dechert partner into its Paris tax practice.

Bruno Leroy joins from Dechert's Paris office, where he specialised in M&A and private equity tax structuring, as well as general tax advice.

"Bruno's reputation and experience will strengthen our tax team in Paris and across Europe," Paul Hastings chair Seth Zachary said in a statement. "His appointment will also help us extend our existing relationships and develop new relationships with French and pan-European private equity funds [and] their portfolio companies, as well as leading corporate clients."

A former Dechert partner of eight years, Leroy advises French and international companies on tax structuring, including domestic and international acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, IPOs, restructuring, development of international financings, optimisation of funds flow, and transfer pricing.

He also advises high-net-worth individuals for tax-optimisation purposes and for the securitisation of their tax position in France.

Earlier this year, Paul Hastings appointed Olivier Vermeulen as its new Paris office chair, succeeding Olivier Deren, who had served as chair since 2012. The office currently houses about 45 lawyers.
