Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner has recruited a finance partner in Singapore.

Dominic Gregory was most recently a partner with Ashurst in Tokyo, where he briefly led the office. Gregory advises lenders and borrowers on financing, acquisition and restructuring of infrastructure and energy projects, especially in southeast Asia.

Gregory joined Ashurst first in Hong Kong in 2012 from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he was counsel. He then moved to Singapore and in 2015 relocated again to the firm's Tokyo office when several ex-Ashurst partners were poached by King & Spalding. In 2017, he took over as Tokyo managing partner after predecessor Rupert Burrow left to launch Mayer Brown's office in Japan.

Gregory left Ashurst in November 2018. Arbitration partner Ronnie King is now Tokyo managing partner.

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner received regulatory approval to officially combine in Singapore in September 2018. While the integration in Hong Kong and China was difficult and ultimately unsuccessful, in Singapore the firm simply inherited Berwin Leighton Paisner's Singapore office. Bryan Cave closed its Singapore office in 2017.

Before Gregory, BCLP made only one other post-merger hire, also in Singapore. Hospitality lawyer Koh Tien Gui joined last year from Rajah & Tann. Former Singapore-based projects partner Nomita Nair left the firm last August for Allen & Overy in London.
