DLA Piper has rejigged its U.K. tax presence, appointing a new practice head as two partners depart.

Partner Clive Jones is set to take over from Richard Woolich as U.K. tax head at the start of next month. Jones joined DLA in October from the City base of U.S. firm Greenberg Traurig.

Woolich, who joined DLA in 2007 from U.S. firm K&L Gates, has been head of U.K. tax for five years. He will remain a partner at the firm.

DLA global tax co-chair Roderik Bouwman said in a statement to Legal Week: "Richard has made an outstanding contribution to the UK tax practice [during] his five years of leadership. As Richard passes the baton, Clive's expertise and innovative approach will take the team from strength to strength."

Meanwhile, tax partners Kelly Lovegrove and Paul Rutherford are set to leave the firm at the end of the month.

Bouwman added: "We thank Paul and Kelly for their valuable contribution and support to the firm since they joined. We wish them both all the best for the future."

Rutherford has been a partner at the firm for 10 years, whereas Lovegrove was made up just last year. Both focus primarily on U.K. corporation tax, as well as international transactional work.
