London-listed U.K. firm DWF has continued its expansion in Australia – this time in Brisbane.

Commercial litigator Cameron McKenzie joins as a principal lawyer, which is the equivalent of partner at DWF in Australia, and leads the firm's Brisbane litigation team. McKenzie will also help with the firm's expansion in commercial litigation, as well as financial services litigation, insolvency, and dispute resolution and mediation practices in Australia.

McKenzie joins from Australian firm Gadens, where he was a partner for three years focusing on the banking and finance, transport, professional services, franchise, pharmaceutical and building and construction industries. Previously, he was a partner at legacy Australian firm DibbsBarker and Queensland firm MacDonnells Law.

DWF has been expanding in Australia since entering the market in January 2017. In February, the firm merged with 23-member boutique WARD Lawyers in Melbourne, which specialises in corporate advisory, financial services and real estate; and also acquired Australian loss adjuster FT Adjusting, which specialises in insurance claims related to construction and engineering.

The firm now has 27 principal lawyers across offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and  Newcastle. In March, DWF listed on the London Stock Exchange's main market – the first law firm to list on London's premium stock market – raising about $120 million.
