Ince Gordon Dadds no longer has any fee-earning lawyers in its Cologne office, following the departure of two partners and two counsel.

Office co-founder Eva-Maria Goergen has quit for rival firm Clyde & Co's Duesseldorf-based insurance and reinsurance team.

Meanwhile, fellow co-founder Stefan Segger has left to launch his own firm, Segger Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft.

Legacy Ince & Co's Cologne office, which opened three years ago, was only last month brought under the new Ince Gordon Dadds banner.

Counsel Thomas Fausten and Julia Degen have also left the office. Degen has joined German finance law outfit Heuking, according to her LinkedIn profile. One source with knowledge of the situation said Fausten is to retire.

The departures from the Cologne base leave the office without a fee-earning presence.

Ince Gordon Dadds' website states the firm maintains a presence in Cologne with director of operations Regina Langholz, but a current partner said she is based only in the Hamburg office.

An Ince Gordon Dadds spokesperson said in a statement to Legal Week: "Germany is an important market for Ince Gordon Dadds. Due to planned changes to our Cologne team, for the last year many of our German team have been working with clients in both Hamburg and Cologne.

"As such, there has been no interruption to our operations in Cologne and our clients continue to receive the same high-quality service they are accustomed to. We remain committed to growing our presence in country, via both our Cologne and Hamburg offices."

Following the pre-pack merger between Ince & Co and Gordon Dadds earlier this year, the newly combined firm last month announced it had incorporated legacy Ince & Co branches across Europe and Asia – including Cologne – into its business, with annual revenues set to rise above £100 million.
