The legal arm of Big Four accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, which has been rapidly expanding across Asia-Pacific, has lost an employment partner in Sydney to the Australian firm HWL Ebsworth.

Tim Frost focuses on workplace relations law, including senior executive employment, non-compete and similar covenants, workplace restructuring and conducting workplace investigations. He joins HWL Ebsworth's workplace relations and safety team, which has 50 lawyers, including 17 partners, across offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne and Perth, in addition to Sydney.

Frost leaves PwC after more than four years as a partner. Previously, he practised at Australian firm Allens for almost 20 years, where he was made a partner.

PwC Legal has 30 partners across offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, including employment law specialists Andrew Farr in Melbourne and Bryony Binns in Sydney. All but two of the partners – Nick Brown in Melbourne and Andrew Wheeler in Sydney, both corporate lawyers – joined in the past five years.

Tony O'Malley, who has been the Australia and Asia-Pacific legal services leader and will become global leader of PwC Legal on June 1, said Australia will continue to see growth, particularly in government projects and financial services.
