Kennedys has hired a 12-strong insurance coverage and disputes team for its marine and energy sector from Norton Rose Fulbright.

The team includes three partners, three senior associates, four associates and two support staff, all from Norton Rose's London office, it was announced this morning.

The partner trio comprises insurance partner Patrick Foss, disputes partner Chris Zavos and insurance partner Jo Ward.

Together, they bring expertise across various marine and energy-related disputes, claims, political risk insurance, and insurance coverage work, bolstering the firm's capabilities in the sector following its merger with boutique marine and shipping law firm Waltons & Morse in 2016.

The team will bring across major clients including Lloyd's syndicates and other global insurers to their new firm, the Kennedys statement said.

The other lawyers joining are senior associates Amy Byrne, Anna Haigh and Debbie Larkin, and associates Jake Hooper, Imogen Lowe, Suzy Oakley and Rachel Pearce.

The team's arrival follows another Kennedys hire from Norton Rose. Finance director Jo Woods joined in April this year.
