The former London head of legacy firm Kaye Scholer is set to leave merged firm Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer alongside a number of others, marking the firm's second private equity departure in a month.

Private equity partner Andrew Harris, who led Kaye Scholer's London operations for six years, is leaving the firm's London office to lead the European corporate and private equity arm at Vedder Price, according to several people with knowledge of the move.

The sources told Legal Week he is expected to take a team of lawyers with him.

Last month, Harris's former private equity teammate David Gerber left the firm to join corporate boutique Bracher Rawlins.

Harris previously led DLA Piper's EMEA private equity operations before joining Kaye Scholer in 2010, leading the firm's private equity team and London office prior to its merger with Arnold & Porter in 2017.

He will join Vedder Price to spearhead its fledgling private equity London practice, which currently comprises two partners.

AmLaw 200 law firm Vedder Price launched a London office in 2011 and reported global revenue of $257 million. A person with knowledge of the situation said the firm is accelerating its efforts to build out its London private equity team, starting with the hire of Harris.

Vedder Price and Arnold & Porter did not respond to requests for comment.
