Linklaters-aligned Australian firm Allens has hired a new disputes partner to join its office in Perth.
Richard Lilly joins Allens' disputes and investigations practice from local independent firm Johnson Winter & Slattery, where he was also a partner.
Lilly's practice focuses on general commercial litigation and dispute resolution, particularly in the mining, oil and gas and energy sectors, which are core parts of the Perth practice.
"Growing both our national disputes and investigations practice and our Perth practice is part of our national strategy," Gerald Woods, director of the Perth practice, said in a statement. "Richard adds to the bench strength of the Perth team and will help grow our market share in the dispute resolution and corporate investigations space."
Woods said the Western Australia disputes practice has experienced "significant growth" in recent years and Lilly will help continue that growth alongside the two disputes and investigations partners already in Perth.
"Richard will be a great fit for us, as a dynamic practice-builder with impressive experience and strong client relationships. He will make a significant contribution to our practice in Perth and assist in the development of the next generation of leaders in our Perth disputes practice," Woods said.
Linklaters and what was at the time Allens Arthur Robinson entered into an exclusive alliance in 2012.
