Dentons has hired Fieldfisher cyber and security law head Antonis Patrikios, as the international firm continues to build out its offices.

Patrikios joined Fieldfisher in 2006 as an associate. While at the firm, he undertook several in-house secondments at companies including the BBC and Vodafone.

In 2015, he was promoted to partner at Fieldfisher.

"Antonis's hire reflects the demand we're seeing from our clients for data privacy and cybersecurity advice, and growing our capabilities in this area is a focus for our UK business to enable us to better support our clients on their global data privacy and cybersecurity needs,"  Dentons U.K. technology media and telecoms head Andy Lucas said in a statement.

Patrikios is the latest hire for Dentons, which has been expanding in continental Europe and across the globe.

Last week, the firm bolstered its newly opened Düsseldorf office with the hire of two new corporate partners.

It also launched a U.S.-Italy cross-border practice based in its Rome office, with the hire of partner Michael Bosco.

The firm's financial statement for its U.K. and Middle East (UKME) region in 2018-19 shows that PEP inched up by 4% to £676,000 ($851,653), while revenues rose 13% to £229.8 million ($289.5 million).

In addition to shoring up strength across its European offering, the expansive firm has continued to grow globally.

Last month, the firm announced plans to combine with Zimbabwe law firm MawereSibanda, a 21-lawyer boutique.

A Fieldfisher spokesman said partner James Walsh is now leading the firm's cyber initiative. "This will build on our market-leading cybersecurity compliance, breach and litigation practice, and focus on expanding our range of multidisciplinary services in this rapidly growing sector," he said. "We would like to wish Antonis well in his new role."
