King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has promoted one London lawyer to its partnership in a 42-strong global promotion round.
London-based banking and finance lawyer Joe Su has been promoted to partner in London, in a China-heavy global round.
Su makes the cut after just two years at the firm. He was previously a lawyer in the banking practices at Taylor Wessing and Allen & Overy, as well as at U.S. firms White & Case and Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom.
In China, 28 lawyers made partner, while nine got the nod in Australia, and a further three in Hong Kong. In the firm's Europe and Middle East region, just two were promoted, including Su in London and international funds lawyer Ildefonso Alier in Madrid.
The firm said in a statement that the latest promotion round is a "testament" to its "commitment in building a top tier international law firm in Asia."
The London promotion follows the recent hire of John Danahy, who joined the firm's London office from Squire Patton Boggs last month.
