Clyde & Co's profit per equity partner (PEP) rose 4.5% to hit  £690,000 last year, in its biggest jump since 2014-15.

The firm also announced its profits have risen 7.5%, hitting £151.1 million.

Alongside its annual results, the firm also announced plans to replace its current chief executive Peter Hasson in 2020.

Hasson, who has been CEO of the firm since 2006, oversaw a rise in the firm's annual turnover from £135 million to £611 million. During the same period, the firm added nearly 300 partners.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Clyde & Co said: "As with any successful business, we plan ahead to ensure succession and continuity in our leadership team.

"As part of that planning, our chief executive officer Peter Hasson indicated during the latter part of last year an intention to step back from the CEO role at some point during 2020."

It follows the news last month that Clyde & Co's revenue jumped by 11% to exceed £600 million for the first time in its 21 successive years of growth.

Clydes opened three offices last year – in Bristol, Hamburg and Dublin. The firm also appointed 41 new partners, comprised of 17 lateral hires and 24 promotions – its largest round to date.
