U.K. market research and data analytics company YouGov is on the hunt for a new group head of legal after its former head left in May, according to LinkedIn updates.

The company is "seeking a lawyer with a commercial law background and some corporate experience to oversee our small in-house legal team", it said in a LinkedIn advertisement. It added that the candidate needs at least seven years' legal experience.

The company was unable to provide comment in time for publication.

A LinkedIn account under the name of Gemma Lower says she had been the company's head of legal since October 2017. The account has recently been updated to state that she left the company in May 2019 and is "seeking opportunities in Singapore due to relocation". She did not respond to requests for comment.

Lower started her legal career as a commercial lawyer at Japanese multinational technology company Konica Minolta Business Solutions UK in 2013, later taking up a corporate and commercial legal counsel role at property management company FirstPort UK in 2015, before joining YouGov.

Last month, Transferwise's GC resigned after four years at the company, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) GC Sajid Hussein joined accounting firm EY after 14 years at the firm, succeeding Herve Labaude who retired from EY after 25 years.

Kraft Heinz also recently appointed a new EMEA general counsel, while mining firm Rio Tinto hired Barbara Levi Mager – GC at Swiss giant pharmaceutical company Novartis International – effective from January 1, 2020.
