The Ince Group is set to open a new office in Aberdeen with the hire of a partner from accountant Grant Thornton.

Tax partner Steve Kitching has joined the firm from the auditor's Dubai office, according to his LinkedIn profile. He has been appointed a partner in CW Energy, Ince Group's specialist tax advisory business, and will lead the new Aberdeen base in the new role.

Kitching previously held tax roles at BDO, Deloitte, EY and HMRC.

The new Ince Scottish branch will be in Marischal Square, which is part of Aberdeen city centre's regeneration programme. It adds to the firm's current U.K. offices of Cardiff and London.

The office will be used by Ince, the group's core legal business, and CW Energy.

The firm announced the new office on its RNS feed.

The office launch follows a recent rebrand by the firm and its subsidiaries in August, changing its name from The Gordon Dadds Group to The Ince Group.

Adrian Biles, CEO of The Ince Group, said in a statement: "Our new office in Aberdeen is an important step for the group as we continue our expansion strategy.

"The new office, jointly housing CW Energy and Ince, will allow us to deliver a highly specialised and integrated service across law, tax and compliance to our many energy clients in the region and beyond."

Since its pre-pack takeover by Gordon Dadds last year, Ince has suffered several setbacks related to its European network. Last month, its Monaco team left to join DAC Beachcroft, with the firm announcing plans to replenish the team in due course.
