Mayer Brown has recruited senior litigation lawyer Emilie Vasseur from French firm Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier. She joins the firm as a partner.

Vasseur comes to Mayer Brown after spending the majority of her legal career at Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier, where she most recently held the role of counsel. She started working at the French firm in January 2001.

Vasseur advises on areas of civil, commercial and securities litigation, including shareholder disputes, shareholder activism, post-acquisition litigation, law enforcement issues and executive liability, for clients including financial institutions, listed and unlisted companies and senior employees.

"I am thrilled to join Mayer Brown, whose top-notch transactional practice and global reach are undeniable assets to strengthen its litigation practice, especially given the importance currently granted to international disputes in Paris," Vasseur said in a statement.

"We are proud and happy to welcome Emilie, with whom we're taking a considerable step in our development," said Jean-Philippe Lambert, managing partner of Mayer Brown's Paris office, also in a statement. "Her arrival significantly enhances our skills and capabilities in business litigation and further strengthens our global client offering."

In June, Mayer Brown recruited Hogan Lovells's Ulrich Helm, a litigation and arbitration partner and head of the firm's German infrastructure, energy, resources and projects practice, as a partner in its Frankfurt office.

Guido Zeppenfeld, the partner in charge of Mayer Brown's German offices, said in a statement at the time that the appointment reflected the firm's commitment to expanding its litigation and dispute resolution practice – its largest practice area internationally.
