Andersen Global, the San Francisco-based professional services firm, has signed an agreement to work with Kuwait's largest law firm as it eyes a greater Middle Eastern presence.

The U.S. company says that following the agreement with the Kuwait City-headquartered Al Khebra, it now has more than 20 locations in the region.

Led by founder Osama A Al-Abdul Jaleel, Al Khebra employs nearly 50 legal and tax professionals, and has five partners.

The firm specialises in corporate and commercial work, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity and tax.

Andersen Global, meanwhile, is an association of independent member firms that specialise in tax and law.

Established in 2013 by U.S. member firm Andersen Tax, Andersen Global now claims to have more than 4,500 professionals worldwide, and a presence in more than 149 locations.

"The Middle East has significant growth opportunities and is incredibly exciting for us and our expansion," said Mark Vorsatz, Andersen Global Chairman and CEO of Andersen. "Adding a firm of the quality and scale of Al Khebra helps to continue to position Andersen Global as 'best in class' consistently – in every region around the globe."

The addition of Al Khebra marks the 50th country with a legal services practice among the member and collaborating firms of Andersen Global.

It is the third collaboration in as many weeks for Andersen Global, which has also announced tie-ups in Mauritius and the Netherlands.

"We are looking toward the future as a wide canvas for the endless possibilities for our firm to grow and to lead in the region," said Jaleel. "Collaborating with the Andersen Global team, our clients can be assured we will continue to provide the most seamless, professional and innovative legal and commercial solutions."
