Kennedys has established its 11th U.K. office, in Bristol, bringing its global office tally to 38.

The move comes amid a wider expansion push, which in June saw the firm bolster its London office with the addition of a 12-strong disputes team from Norton Rose Fulbright.

The new office is Kennedys' second in the southwest of the U.K, following the establishment of a base in Taunton 2008.

According to the firm's announcement, the new office will focus on professional and financial lines work, along with defendant personal injury.

Kennedys also stated that the Bristol base would assist its Taunton lawyers who wish to work more flexibly in the region.

Kennedys senior partner Nick Thomas said in a statement: "Our growth strategy has always been driven by client demand, which has led to our rapid international expansion in recent years.

"But we have remained careful to ensure that our domestic offering – the core of what Kennedys has become – remains at the top of its game. Opening in Bristol ensures that we will continue to give our clients the best service."

The office launch follows the same move by key rival Clyde & Co, which set up shop in Bristol in November 2017.

The firm's expansion drive has also seen it establish a number of international offices in recent years, including Mexico, Bermuda and Moscow.

The firm also appointed Sheffield-based partner Suzanne Liversidge as its first global managing partner.
