Ashurst has hired Andrew Craig as a corporate partner in Melbourne from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer's London office.

Craig focuses on advising corporations, private equity firms and financial institutions on technology transactions, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs, business separation, outsourcing and commercial transactions in the technology, media, and telecommunications; pharmaceuticals, financial services and industrials sectors.

Craig leaves Freshfields after almost 17 years with the Magic Circle firm. He joined in 2003 after a two-year stint in-house at Ninemsn, a joint venture between Australian media company Nine Entertainment and Microsoft, and made partner in London in 2010. Previously, he was an associate at legacy Australian firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques.
